One of our clients, company E, a startup company operating in the online healthcare service business, did not have a CFO. They were trying to determine new initiatives for business expansion and appropriate financing methods that aimed at going public. As the company E was operating an innovative service that never existed before, Atelas logically estimated the aggregate market value of the company and provided full support in their negotiation with financial institutions. In addition to that, we now provide professional advice on their business expansion strategies to move their online healthcare business model into various other fields.

Smart farming market research and sales expansion strategy development
The workforce shortage in the agricultural industry is perceived as a major social issue these days. An agricultural organization, company D, has requested that we formulate strategies that would make it possible to improve both their work efficiency and revenue. Atelas conducted research and analysis on the applicability of smart farming, and made a recommendation to introduce a smart farming system after confirming the cost effectiveness from the analysis. This investment into automating the process successfully led to the expansion of cultivated land area and a decrease in costs. Thanks to the automated system, company D was able to make up for the shortage of labor. Seeing this success, we are currently providing them with support and helping with strategies and initiatives for further expanding the cultivated land area and for marketing in other Asian countries.

Marketing strategy building and Asia real estate market research
Facing the rise of real estate prices in the Tokyo area and the increasing importance of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), company C, a real estate company specializing in home remodeling, requested that we develop new marketing strategies. Atelas contributed to the sales expansion for company C, through our intensive efforts in cooperation with company C to expand into new target segments after a thorough market research on the real estate market in the Kanto area. In addition, as part of company C’s effort to expand their successful Japanese business model outward into Asia, Atelas participated in the field survey trip to the targeted area together with the company C management, and provided a report. We are currently serving them with strategic support on a continuous basis to further expand their business in Asia.

ESG strategy development and market research on their client industries
In the midst of the increasing trend toward carbon neutrality, one of our clients, steelmaker B was under strong pressure to develop and enforce a decarbonization program. Atelas not only served as the Project Management Office (PMO) for preparing the road map for achieving decarbonization, but also conducted interviews with the users of steelmaker B. The effort included automobile manufacturers, construction companies and shipbuilding companies utilizing its own network, and provided analysis on what was gained in these interviews. As a result, these efforts led to sales expansion of their decarbonization products, contributing to an increase in revenue.

Support for production of integrated report
Company A, which is listed on the prime market, has set up a task force to issue an integrated report as part of its efforts to strengthen their IR. However, it was difficult for Company A to independently understand the information disclosure that investors required from the IR. We research and organize the strategic, financial, and non-financial interests of investors in Company A, and how Company A's IR information is incorporated into stock investments, and then make the most appropriate decisions. We started by visualizing the level of information disclosure. On top of that, we did not just follow the framework presented by IIRC, but also verify whether each content is attractive to investors, such as the medium- to long-term growth story, the quality of messages from top management and outside directors. I wrote it carefully. After that, with the cooperation of writers, designers, and others, we were able to publish an integrated report that was enriched in both quantity and quality. As a result, Company A's integrated report achieved the brilliant achievement of winning the Nikkei Integrated Report Award and is also used as a tool for active communication with investors.
